Congratulations to the James Beard Winners
It is thrilling to see people I know and/or have wrote about in this newsletter win awards. Over the weekend, José R. Ralat, Adrian Miller, Alexis Nikole Nelson and Marcia Chatelain won James Beard awards in media and journalism. Last night, Chef Mashama Bailey won the James Beard for Best Chef. I am super happy for my boss!
Not The Real Thing
Have you heard about the ridiculous “hack” of making a healthy version of Coke by mixing balsamic vinegar with seltzer?! It is not even close to tasting like Coke. It’s a SHRUB. A shrub is a non-alcoholic syrup made of a combination of concentrated fruits, aromatics, sugar, and vinegar. Check out these delicious shrub recipes. Locally, you can buy Rhoot Man Shrub at the Forsyth Farmer’s Market or order online at Rhoot Man Beverage.

Black Food Truck News
Slutty Vegan has partnered with Steve Madden on limited edition sneakers and a crossbody bag. This is the swaggiest fast food merchandise I have seen since the Burger King crown.
Local Green Orlando is making history by being the first Black-owned food truck at Disney World. Robyn and Zak Wallace are the owners of Local Green which serves plant-based food.
Listen to My Cuz’s New Track
