Are you watching the latest season of the Great British Bake Off on Netflix? I am watching this show again after I stopped watching when Mary Berry left. The highlight of this season is the co-host Matt Lucas from Little Britain. He is a delight.
10,000 Recipes For Cookbook Maniacs
Open Culture shares that 10,000 vintage recipes have been digitized and archived by the Internet Archive. You can find theses cookbooks under the Cookbooks and Home Economics section. The first cookbook that caught my eye is Aunt Caroline’s Dixieland Recipe which includes recipes for Tar Heel Chow Chow and plantation cookies.
Pre-Order This Book
Speaking of cookbooks, I am so excited this one. Chef Matthew Raiford’s first cookbook, Bress 'n' Nyam, Gullah-Geechee Recipes from a Sixth-Generation Farmer co-written by Amy Paige Condon will be published in May of 2021. I first met Matthew and his partner Jovan Sage three years ago. They have come up from Brunswick to do beer dinners at my favorite craft beer store White Whale Craft Ales here in Savannah.
Eat Your Feelings
There’s not much stand up comedy happening in comedy clubs, but many comedians are performing outdoors. I know from personal experience that when a comedian performs well, they get a rush of endorphins that is similar to a runner’s high. [Wearing New Balance sneakers are the only other thing that comedians have in common with runners.] But what do comedians eat when they bomb? They eat their feelings. Danny Palumbo from the Takeout asked some comics what they eat after they bomb.
