Balls on Parade
The Mermaid Parade in Coney Island celebrates the summer solstice. When I lived in Brooklyn, I dressed up for the Mermaid Parade. I wore scraps of fabric and a lot of glitter. My friend, The Drunken Photographer, went last week and he took some amazing photos. Follow him on Instagram.
Cake Walk
My good friend Wendy who lives in New York made the Strawberry Sumac cake from Nicole A. Taylor’s cookbook, Watermelons & Red Birds. I heard it was delicious.
