Most common ways to save money: Food
Eating in is a great way to save money. Right now many of don’t have a choice. What you can do is make it better by splurging on the basics. My splurge is avocado oil. I use it when I cook eggs, peppers, onions, potatoes.
All too many times, I see people equate eating gourmet food with wealth. That is not necessarily the case. For me, I think it is important that you can keep to a diet that is healthy for your needs and nourishes you.
Squash The Beef
Anyone who decides to call their vegan catering business Squash The Beef deserves all the press. I love that name! Kurtis Williams and his partner Candace Maiden, the owners of a Cleveland vegan catering business have raised 30K in a month to expand their operations.
Rutabagas are the New Potatoes
If you like potatoes, then you will love rutabagas. Rutabaga will be in season next month in October. They are delicious, and here’s some simple ways to eat rutabaga.
Is Eating 100% Local Possible?
It depends on where you live and what you eat. Check out the food miles map that was created by a research team and published in Environmental Science and Technology. Looking at the map, I see that the southeast corner of Georgia that abuts South Carolina (Savannah and the Low Country) is pretty green as compared to the rest of Georgia. I am in the right place at the right time.
