Wendy's Baked Potatoes
In my humble opinion, Wendy’s fries are nothing to write home about, but when I was in college, I often ate Wendy’s baked potato with a bowl of chili for a healthy fast food meal. The Daily Meal writes about the Wendy’s baked potatoes.
For now, though, Wendy's seems to have the market cornered on fast food baked potatoes, and it seems to be working for them. The company sells around 1 million baked potatoes every single week.
Caesar The Chocolatier
Kelley Fanto Deetz came to Savannah in January, and I went to see her speak about her book, Bound To The Fire, How Virginia's Enslaved Cooks Helped Invent American Cuisine. In her talk, she mentioned Caesar who was an enslaved cook who managed one of the most extravagant kitchens in the colonial South. Gastro Obscura has a story about Caesar and Dontavius Williams, a culinary historian who is interpreting Caesar’s recipes at Stratford Hall.
