My friend made a simple but delicious salad made with avocado, tomato, mozzarella and heart of palm. I ate a Korean beef grilled cheese at this bourbon bar. Lastly, I made a veggie pizza with kale, tomato, onion, marinara sauce and lots of cheese.

I feel like I have to have a speech ready to go at all times, regardless of where I am. I’m not the kind of person who can really get away with foraging in spaces where I’m not supposed to be.
High On The Hog on Netflix
High on the Hog is an excellent docu-series on Netflix about African American foodways. Hosted by Stephen Satterfield, it is amazing look at the origins of soul food. Watch it and read Dr. Jessica B. Harris’ book, High On The Hog: A Culinary Journey from Africa to America, which is the basis of the series.
