Gilded vs Golden
The first week of May is a calendar clusterfuck.
May 1 is Mayday when we focus on labor rights. The next day, the Kentucky Derby is an event filled with pastels and pomps with a side of gambling and celebrities.
Then we talk about the force on Star Wars Day. Coincidentally, it was the first Monday of May which is Met Gala Monday.
The gala fits were boring.
This feels like peak oligarch.
This feels like capitalism run amok.
This feels like a retread of the Gilded Age.
Cinco de Mayo is like a Hallmark holiday for drinking margaritas and eating tacos.
Sunday is Mother.
Mother is everywhere.
