Hercules, Hercules, Hercules.
Happy President’s Day! Hercules was the Black chef who prepared meals for President George Washington. Read more about him in this article on Atlas Obscura. If you want to know more about what was cooked by Black chefs in the White House read Adrian Miller’s book, The President's Kitchen Cabinet: The Story of the African Americans Who Have Fed Our First Families, from the Washingtons to the Obamas.
Feta, what?!
I made the viral pasta dish and it was delicious. I used grape tomatoes and garlic and herb goat cheese from Aldi, plus I got a couple cubes of feta cheese from work. First, I seasoned the tomatoes with a spice blend and added a couple of cloves of garlic. I didn’t have any basil, but it was still delicious. I recommend adding a generous amount of pasta water so that you have more sauce.
